Twine – The Storyboarding Tool You May Not Have Heard Of
There are many tools available to develop interactive storyboards. I use Twine. I find that Twine offers tons of useful features for eLearning development.
In the eLearning industry we use written and visual storyboards. As eLearning developers, we end up creating or customizing storyboard templates to fit our needs and preferences. The shortcoming of these templates is that they are static instead of interactive unless you are already using Twine or similar tools!
Interactive storyboards allow us to simulate “the flow of the course”. This makes communication with stakeholders more effective and also more fun, which can save us a few rounds of reviewing during prototyping. This is particularly useful when the “plot” is complex, such as when we use branching scenarios.
Do you use Twine or other interactive storyboarding tools? How do you use them? Until then, go check out Twine for yourself if you think it might help you.
Watch out for future blog posts about how I use Twine to make the storyboarding process more fluid and accessible for myself and stakeholders.
Disclaimer: I am in no way associated with Twine or its creators. I just love what the app offers. You can find Twine here.
